Scottish Chamber of Safety Lord Cullen Safety Award 2000

The prestigious Scottish Chamber of Safety Lord Cullen Safety Award 2000 has gone to Scafftag of Barry, south Wales, for their Safetrak system.
Scottish Chamber of Safety's David McGingal said the intention behind the award was to encourage research and development and highlight outstanding ideas which when put into practice make a great contribution to industrial safety. He said of the award winner: "The judges were most impressed with the innovative aspects of Safetrak."
Dave Mitchell, Scafftag's managing director commented: "I am delighted we have won this prestigious award, and it is thanks to the diligence and ingenuity of the team which has developed Safetrak from an idea into the real thing." Mr Mitchell, at the outset, focused his thoughts on how communication problems could be overcome in a way that will prevent accidents.
